VEHICLE TESTING & DIAGNOSTICS
Vehicle Inspection Equipment: Test-Line Planning and Side-Slip vs Alignment
Plan inspection equipment by test function, axle load and lane layout; distinguish a side-slip test from wheel-alignment measurement.

Start from the inspection program and vehicle class
List the checks the station must perform and the vehicles it will accept. Candidate equipment categories include axle weighing, brake testing, suspension and side-slip testing, speedometer testing, headlamp testing, exhaust-gas analysis and diesel smoke measurement. Required tests depend on the applicable inspection program and destination.
A combined machine can cover several functions but does not automatically form a complete licensed inspection station. Ask the local project team to establish the required test procedures, reporting, calibration and approval conditions before fixing the equipment list.
Read the functions and load limits of a combined line
The XKQJ four-in-one configuration combines axle load, brake, suspension and side-slip functions. Its listed 3,500 kg maximum vehicle weight and 3,000 kg axle-load limit describe different restrictions. Check both for the intended vehicles.
For heavier axle requirements, compare the XKZF brake/axle-weight configurations at their documented 3, 10 or 15 tonne axle ratings. A model number or nominal axle class does not establish wheel dimensions, foundation fit, all-wheel-drive test suitability or approval for a particular inspection program.
How is side-slip testing different from wheel alignment?
The XKCH side-slip tester uses linked sliding plates and reports lateral slip in m/km. An alignment system measures wheel and steering geometry such as toe and camber using its documented measurement arrangement. Their outputs and workshop roles are different.
Use side-slip equipment for the specified lane test and an alignment system for the applicable geometry measurement and adjustment workflow. A side-slip result does not supply the full alignment measurements or vehicle reference data. One machine should not be quoted as a substitute for the other solely because both relate to wheel direction.
Select the remaining instruments by their test output
For headlamps, check lamp position and the measurement procedure against the headlight tester. For engine emissions, distinguish the NHA-506EN five-gas analyzer from the NHT-6 diesel smoke opacimeter. Gas concentrations and diesel opacity are different outputs.
For a speedometer tester, provide axle load, wheel dimensions, drive arrangement and required speed range. Confirm model-specific test procedures, calibration, control software and report output for the actual vehicle classes.
Coordinate foundations, connections and data
Provide a scaled lane layout, entry and exit routes, floor/foundation information, drainage, power and cable routing. Request equipment and foundation drawings separately. Include the control cabinet, computer, display, printer and interfaces explicitly in the supply list.
Confirm how records are identified, saved, printed or transferred and whether any required external inspection-system interface is included. A pictured cabinet or software screen does not establish compatibility with every authority reporting system.
Use a test-by-test acceptance schedule
For each test, record the vehicle class and load limits, measurement range, documented accuracy, calibration requirements, supplied accessories and required acceptance documents. Ask which installation, training and support tasks are included.
The cover is an illustrative scene of the four-in-one test-line configuration. It is not evidence of local station approval. Send BAOHUA the intended test program, vehicle list, layout and destination for a model-specific equipment proposal.
Frequently asked questions
Does a four-in-one tester provide every inspection-station function?
No. The XKQJ configuration combines axle load, brake, suspension and side-slip tests. Other tests, lane systems and local approval requirements must be specified for the actual project.
Can a side-slip tester replace a wheel aligner?
They provide different outputs. The XKCH measures side slip in m/km; a wheel aligner measures its supported geometry parameters and uses the appropriate vehicle reference data for alignment work.
Is an axle rating the same as maximum vehicle weight?
No. Check the maximum permitted axle load and vehicle-weight limit separately, together with wheel dimensions and the model-specific procedure.
This guide supports early equipment planning. Final dimensions, specifications, installation instructions, supply scope, and applicable documents must be confirmed for the exact model and site before ordering.
