Choosing a Brake Fluid Exchanger: DOT Fluid, Adapters and ABS Requirements
Compare BFE-9800 DOT 3/4/5.1 compatibility, standard adapters and ABS bleeding assistance. Silicone-based DOT 5 is excluded.

Define the brake service you need
A brake fluid exchanger should be selected around the fluid, reservoir connection and vehicle procedure. Similar-looking workshop cabinets may service coolant, transmission fluid or engine oil; those applications do not establish brake-system suitability.
BAOHUA BFE-9800 supplies new brake fluid and recovers used fluid. The documented menu includes Recover, Charge and Exchange, plus emptying functions for the machine tanks. Its role is fluid replacement and bleeding assistance. Confirm this service scope before treating it as part of an ABS diagnostic setup.
Which DOT fluids are supported?
BAOHUA confirms the current BFE-9800 fluid circuit for glycol-based DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 brake fluids. Silicone-based DOT 5 is excluded. Do not introduce DOT 5 into the machine; the similar DOT names do not make these fluids one interchangeable group.
Machine compatibility and vehicle fluid requirements are separate checks. Use the specification required by the vehicle manufacturer rather than choosing fluid simply because the machine can handle it. Identify the intended fluid when requesting the equipment and preparing the service.
This is the current BAOHUA fluid-compatibility supplement to the supplied original manual. Keep that information with the equipment documentation so operators can distinguish DOT 5.1 from DOT 5 before filling the machine.
Check the reservoir-cap adapter and hose accessories
The illustrated reservoir-cap adapter assortment and associated hose accessories are standard with BFE-9800. A cap must match the intended reservoir connection. Send the vehicle details and reservoir photographs, and ask BAOHUA to identify the appropriate adapter before ordering.
The manual describes replacing the reservoir cap with a suitable special cover and connecting the machine supply hose to it. It then describes recovery at the wheel-cylinder bleed connection. This explains why both the reservoir-side adapter and wheel-side hose connection matter when checking the package.
Do not infer coverage of every vehicle from the number of caps in a case. Confirm the actual connection, supplied accessories and any additional item in the order.

What does ABS bleeding assistance include?
BFE-9800 assists fluid replacement and bleeding; it does not command an ABS pump or ABS solenoid valves. Where a vehicle procedure requires diagnostic activation, a separate suitable diagnostic tool is needed.
A description of ABS applications must therefore not be read as a promise that the machine alone completes every ABS service. Identify whether the planned job is routine fluid replacement or a procedure requiring additional diagnostic steps, and check the vehicle instructions.
The same distinction matters when comparing quotations. A fluid-service machine and a diagnostic tool perform different functions, even when both are used during one workshop job.
Use the manual to understand the workflow
The supplied BFE-9800 instructions begin with the engine switched off. They describe recovering fluid from the reservoir, adding fresh fluid, fitting a suitable cap adapter and performing exchange at the wheel bleed connections in turn.
For completion at a wheel, the manual describes observing the return hose until used fluid has been removed and no air bubbles appear, then closing the bleed screw. It also calls for the final reservoir level and leakage checks. Read the full manual together with the vehicle instructions before service.
The machine pressure limit is not a universal setting for every reservoir. The equipment manual and vehicle procedure govern the approved setting and connection. A buyer guide should not replace these details with one pressure or wheel sequence for all cars.
Check power, tanks and supply scope
The current BFE-9800 configuration uses DC 12 V power and 150 W. New and used brake fluid are held in separate 10 L tanks. These are machine tank capacities, not the fluid volume required for a particular vehicle.
Include suitable fluid handling, access to the reservoir and wheel connections, and room to position the machine in the workshop plan. Confirm machine dimensions and shipping measurements separately when discussing transport.
Request the operation manual, original demonstration video, standard accessory list and any required diagnostic-tool scope. State the intended vehicles, fluid specifications, quantity and destination so the quotation reflects the actual service.
Frequently asked questions
Can BFE-9800 use silicone-based DOT 5?
No. BAOHUA confirms the current machine for glycol-based DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 only. Do not introduce silicone-based DOT 5, and always follow the vehicle fluid specification.
Does BFE-9800 activate ABS pumps and solenoid valves?
No. It provides fluid exchange and bleeding assistance. Use a separate suitable diagnostic tool where the vehicle procedure requires ABS activation.
Are reservoir-cap adapters included?
The illustrated adapter kit and associated hose accessories are standard. Confirm the cap and hose fit for the intended vehicle before ordering.
This guide supports early equipment planning. Final dimensions, specifications, installation instructions, supply scope, and applicable documents must be confirmed for the exact model and site before ordering.
